I should be doing homework but....

While I am stuck inside for this beautiful weekend finishing up my Thesis I can't help but envy everyone enjoying this fabulous Memorial Day weekend! For me this is usually my first camping trip of the year. A weekend of cheap beer, sun, bonfires, the beach and s'mores. It becomes a weekend to get away, sit back, relax, and enjoy just being.
however,if all that roughing it just isn't for you maybe these will change your mind....

In the mod for color....

In am in absolute love with the Trina Turk Spring collection this year! The bold (yet minimal) accessories, to the bright patterns... everything is polished, vibrant, and perfect for any summer occasion! The seventies mod/bohemian fusion is all sorts of perfection!

Feeling Fluorescent....

Its Friday, the sun is out, the flowers are in bloom, there isn't a better time to introduce a splashes color into a room! As much as I love all white, color can bring a refreshing burst of life into a space, channeling with it personality and a casual sense of comfort. Your cool, calm room now becomes a lively sanctuary, able to distract you from the every day qualms of work, school, and life. Here are some fabulous examples I found at Bolig, a danish decorating magazine. The color composition and mix of texture against a white palette is to done to perfection!
Hope you enjoy...

Happy Birthday Kris!

In light of my friend, Kristina Voskes' 23rd birthday I felt it necessary to search for the perfect cake! Here's a few of my favorites so far....

dynamic minimalism...

“The secret of happiness, you see, is not found in seeking more, but in developing the capacity to enjoy less.”
-Socrates, Way of the Peaceful Warrior

These beautiful photos taken by TiaraMia are minimal yet full of emotion and true beauty. The simplicity and definition of each silhouette she was able to capture is exquisite. You can't help but smile and begin appreciating the similar beautiful situations that you may otherwise pass by in your own everyday life.

the power of white....

"White...is not a mere absence of colour; it is a shining and affirmative thing, as fierce as red, as definite as black...God paints in many colours; but He never paints so gorgeously, I had almost said so gaudily, as when He paints in white." --G. K. Chesterton

feeling white....

"The first of all single colors is white ... - Leonardo DaVinci

For some reason lately I've been obsessed with white. It is proven that color and space can effect a persons outlook or feeling in a situation, therefore to better understand my new obsession I did a little research to see why I am drawn to the neutral pigment...

White projects purity, cleanliness, and neutrality. Doctors don white coats, brides traditionally were white gowns and a white picket fence surrounds a safe and happy home.White effects people mentally and physically as well. It tends to aid mental clarity, encourages us to clear clutter and obstacles, evokes purification of thoughts and actions, and enables a fresh beginning!

Here is my ode to white and a little soothing inspiration for a new day...
(Warning... I may get carried away....)
