LONDON 2012

Zaha Hadid has outdone herself, again. In her winning bid for the 2012 London Olympic pool, she displayed her unique ability to execute a clear and concise parti through integrated form and function.

I am particularly intrigued by the diving platforms. The detail and poetic nature of the the simple forms is inspiring. Their flowing and progressive shape, celebrate the journey which the athlete is partaking. It is clear that the dive is the natural way complete the process, thus celebrating the action.

I am excited to see how the elegance, and gliding nature of the space will highlight each performance. Whether a success, or failure, each dive will inevitably be enhanced, as the building and the events are truly integrated.... I can't wait!

Mira Mira on the wall....

.....whose the fiercest of them all?

Miroslava Duma,
a freelance writer for Tatler, Glamour Russia, OK Magazine (Russia), and a former Editor at Harper's Bazaar Russia, has become my style icon of the moment. I love her ability to push boundaries in trend, while maintaining classic femininity. Miras style appears effortless, yet her attention to detail is evident, giving each look a flawless finish. Always polished and always chic, it is no wonder Mira's edgy style has made her one of fashions newest "it" girls...

Waynes World

After reading a recent article from the New York Times, I've become strangely intrigued by The Flaming Lips Front Man, Wayne Coyne. Not only was I entertained by his candid humor, but I have become captivated by his "hippie compound" in Oklahoma City. The Transformation of this modest 1930's Art Deco home, which was also the cities first fireproof home, is both psychedelic and inspirational. With hands on collaboration from Wayne and Michelle Coynes themselves, Fitzsimmons Architects, were the ones responsible for the conceptual spaces. I love how each space is deliberately sculpted to enable and evoke contrasting emotions through intentional design moves.... you can't help but be inspired!

I should be doing homework but....

While I am stuck inside for this beautiful weekend finishing up my Thesis I can't help but envy everyone enjoying this fabulous Memorial Day weekend! For me this is usually my first camping trip of the year. A weekend of cheap beer, sun, bonfires, the beach and s'mores. It becomes a weekend to get away, sit back, relax, and enjoy just being.
however,if all that roughing it just isn't for you maybe these will change your mind....
